Sa Punta, the Balearic gastronomic paradise

Located in Port Verd, a small cove near Cala Bona, Sa Punta has become one of the gastronomic points of reference in Mallorca. The reasons for its success? An idyllic location by the sea, traditional Mediterranean cuisine, top quality local products and an award winning Chef.

Although the location is key, an important part of the popularity that Sa Punta has acquired is thanks to its award winning chef Andrés Moreno, who in 2018 was awarded in the prestigious national competition of pinchos and tapas of Valladolid, and who just a few days ago won the “Bronze Pincho” award. Andrés leads a team who work each day to delight diners thanks to the excellent preparation of the best meats of the comarca and fresh fish and shellfish from the east coast of Mallorca. Among diners’ favourite dishes are chateaubriand cooked on a hot stone, salt baked wild sea bass, and saffron risotto with Mallorcan cured cheese.

This is confirmed by Lauren (United Kingdom) one of the 700 people who have posted their comments on TripAdvisor: “We recently had dinner at Sa Punta for my boyfriend’s birthday, and were impressed by the whole experience. The food was incredible – I have to recommend the chateaubriand! The place is beautifully decorated with a relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were wonderful. Keith, in particular, made us feel very welcome, and their attention to detail is unbeatable. The highlight of our trip!”.

Jojo, a tourist from Dubai, wrote: “My friend and I have been on a tennis programme for adults at the Rafa Nadal Academy, and have visited Sa Punta several times. We were lucky enough to have dinner next to Rafa and his whole family, celebrating his grandmother’s birthday. Last night we enjoyed visiting Rafa’s father. I highly recommend this restaurant – don’t miss out on it if you are in Manacor!”. Sa Punta is known to be one of Rafa Nadal’s favourite restaurants, where diners can often find him during periods when he is not competing around the world.

Sa Punta, which has also established itself as an ideal location for holding events, has become an idyllic environment selected by numerous couples for celebrating their weddings. A total of 6 wedding ceremonies have been celebrated recently. “It was a day that we will never forget,” say Tomás and Pilar. This is precisely the aim of Sa Punta – for each diner to take away a unique memory, an unforgettable experience by the beautiful waters that surround one of the best gastronomic coves in all of Mallorca.
